Really Connect With Your Family

I can never think of thought-provoking questions to ask the grandkids, but now there's help. A couple of samples: "If the sky rained food, instead of water, what food would you want it to be?" "Suppose we could open a family business. What would our business do?" "How would we prepare to live for a week without electricity? What essential items would we need?" There are simpler and more complex questions than these in the pack. I love this concept, and am so glad to have these cards. I did ask the family business question to the 8 yr. old grandson and received quite a lengthy and imaginative answer. Ideas were flowing, and it was great. I highly recommend these cards!

These cards are a great way to spark some fun and interesting family conversations while in the car, sitting around on a quiet day, at suppertime, or anytime you want to keep the kids off the screens for a while. Its a good way to teach kids the ideas of active listening, two-way conversation, responding thoughtfully, etc. These are skills that'll take them far in life, and unfortunately they sometimes don't get enough practice in their everyday lives. Plus, we get to know each other even better, and sometimes the things that come up are surprising, or take the conversation in a different direction- and that's the fun of it.The cards are nicely printed, with a smooth, shiny finish. Same size as a deck of playing cards. The questions are grouped into 5 categories, with one question on one side of the card, and 2 related questions on the back. I find we often don't need those extra questions but if you do, they're convenient.Our kids love finding out things about us, and being free to ask questions about things we might just never think to tell them. I really recommend this set for any family looking to strengthen their bonds as a family, and teach their kids to be great, interesting conversationalists. 5 stars.

I had a day once of going around a group of friends and us all responding to a specific question, and coming across this, it made me think of that.I like the handful of categories of questions that are in this pack, and the follow up and go deeper questions on the reverse keep to the same "theme" for consistency. The topics are in a good spot between general and specific, and certainly leave room for the user to provide their experience in relation to the question.It does say ages 5+ on it, and I feel like a kid being asked really basic and simple questions, like my second grade teacher is really interested in my day and simple child-like thoughts. And if you're an adult, they're still fun topics to discuss amongst friends if you're just killing time in a good place. You could talk for a while with this pack. 50+ hours seems to be about right.This review is asking me to help choose the users age, and the box saying 5+, I should add that the child would enjoy some of these questions, but may not have the experience to comment on others - it might be fun to find out what they think. These are fantastic conversation starters that we keep in our kitchen. I like the five different categories that they have created. I especially like the “follow up” and “go deeper”questions on the reverse side of each card. These conversations have brought us closer to our kids as they give a format and structured way of getting them to talk with us.

Fun for the whole family. we use them around the table when the grandparents are over or when we are waiting for a meal at a restaurant to keep connections going.

Havent used them yet. I got them to help with muscle memory for my elderly clients.

After reading through these cards and running through a few with another person, I think that these are a good option. The prompts are thought-provoking without focusing on anything too negative, while still asking us to think about sometimes complicated topics. Nothing was unpleasant, and I felt that this could be edifying and enjoyable to use. Overall, these are well-made and have well-thought-out prompts to stimulate a good discussion, so I'm giving these five-stars for use with teens. We didn't test these with very young children.
