Excellent way to get your teen to open up and calm themselves. Not only are the cards enjoyable, but they help with bonding. The cards are nice and thick and will definitely last for a long time.
I love the idea of these cards. Well I’m sure anyone could sit and think of questions or search the Internet, having a small deck makes it incredibly easy to discuss at bedtime or in the car or at a dinner. Instead of everyone being bored and lost in their own world. This can really help us generate a good conversation. It also allows for some topics and conversations That might be important to talk about with your kids, but they might not like you asking. This is great because I didn’t ask the question, it was on the card.
These cards are fantastic for winding down and sparking meaningful conversations. They’re easy to use, portable, and make any chill evening more engaging. Highly recommend for anyone looking to connect in a relaxed way!
As any parent knows, bedtime can feel like a cross between a zoo and an Olympic gymnastics meet. So when I found these TALKING POINT CARDS for winding down, I figured it was worth a shot to avoid our usual nightly circus. These little gems have been a great addition to bedtime. Each card offers a calming question that not only stops my kids in their tracks but actually gets them to sit down and engage. It's like flipping a switch from hyper to zen. Now, bedtime is filled with thoughtful conversations instead of ceiling fan acrobatics. And the bonus? I get to hear all about the high and low points of their day, which really does make us all feel more connected. These cards have turned bedtime into one of my favorite parts of our day.
This is our second deck of "Talking Point" cards. Both decks do a great job of jumpstarting important conversations with your kids. This deck is aimed at younger kids and the questions promote mindfulness and can help build emotional regulation skills. The entire set is well thought out with age-appropriate and thought-provoking questions, an easy-to-read font, and a secure box that closes securely. This set has 63 cards with a main question on the front and two "dig deeper" questions. There are seven color-coded topics in the deck, and the cards are divided like so:11 Recap12 Winding Down10 Gratitude7 Tech8 Routine9 Nutrition6 FearsAs with the Teens Technology + Boundaries deck, the Winding Down deck helps avoid overthinking how to phrase things and makes it easier to start conversations. As ever, I appreciate things that make things easier for my family (and reduce mental loads- because yes, I could think up 189 wonderful thought-provoking questions but now I don't have to). Strongly recommended.
The TALKING POINT CARDS Pocket Packs - Winding Down are a wonderful tool for homeschoolers, especially on those stressful days. These cards offer quick, reflective prompts that encourage relaxation and help kids (and parents) transition from a hectic day to a calmer state. The easy-to-carry pocket size makes them great for quick use during breaks or after school. With thoughtful questions and calming suggestions, they help foster mindfulness and promote emotional well-being, making them a great addition to any homeschool routine.
I purchased these cards for my brother to use with my nephew. My nephew is 7 and he sometimes has a rough time at school or has bad days. I thought these might help him to talk about his struggles and/or feelings in a more productive manner so that he can learn how to process said feelings. So far my brother says that they are really happy with these cards. They give you specific questions to ask the child and prompts them to further explore their answers. It really makes them think about things that happen and they believe these exercises are helping my nephew. He is engaged and seems to enjoy the one on one time with his parents too :)
This company has come out with some great card packs for promoting conversations between families, friends, and couples. I got this “Winding Down” pocket pack not to use with my kids (my kids all have four legs and don’t speak English), but with the students I work with every day. The questions on most of the cards are still very applicable, but since it’s meant to be used before bedtime, I figured they’d still have some great conversation starters that are low-pressure and meant to promote reflection and a sense of calm. I love that each card has three questions of increasing depth, so you can choose how deep to dive into the topic depending on how comfortable the student/students are comfortable with sharing. Another hit from Talking Point!
These cards can be used as a quiet activity to settle down for the evening or as we have done, use them for family dinners with cousins. They have great questions with follow ups to use as needed. We have found that everyone wants to add their comments and the conversation is off and running. I have also found that even though you have used a question before, you can rephrase it for another conversation. By having the conversations with trusted cousins, the kids realize that we all have many of the same feelings and learn how others handle those feelings/emotions in similar situations. I'd order this again.
This was great to use with my 12 year-old niece. Instead of being on her phone at night an hour before bed she actually chose to put the phone down and sit and go through cards and discuss things with me. These are wonderful for anyone trying to reconnect with a kid, child niece, nephew, or even just a friend.
These talking cards are so great. We have another configuration and was geared more towards the whole family and or friends which is fun, but I wanted something for me and my youngest. They are amazing conversation starters. Gives you wonderful ideas and questions to allow for your special people to open up and enjoy because it’s like a game. We ready 4 cards a night and talk about whatever the card asks and elaborate further which is nice. It’s allows my youngest to open up and not feel like I’m asking a million questions she is able to express it her way and get specific. Great value and well made. We love them. We are going to purchase other subjects as they are fun and helpful.
These cards are a god send for exhausted parents who want to connect with their kids at the end of their day and need some "help/encouragement". I think they're intended for bedtime, but we actually use them at dinner and it really gets the conversations going. I love that they provide some guidance on how to use the cards effectively, and I love that each card has a thought provoking question and two follow up questions to that question on the back. My kids at first were not thrilled to use them....as in "Oh Dad, why are we doing this". But that turned quickly to anticipation of each days dinner topic. Great for family building and understanding what's going on in your little one's brain's. It really helps to understand their joy, fear, anxiety, etc. much better. HIGHLY recommended!!!
These adventure cards are fun to use with friends, family, or between couples. You definitely need a car and a driver for these activities, but they are super fun to do. You never know where you might end up in your city or town, and may stumble upon some new spots to visit! It's a good value and the cards aren't flimsy. They're a good size and can fit into a normal purse.
This was a gift for my son and his new bride. It encourages couples and friends to get out and about for a date night (or day), weekend outings, or road trips. There are 50 cards that sum up a game that offers unique and adventurous ways to create new memories together. We all could use a little less time behind our screens and more time out enjoying life and each other. Keep it in your car so you can be spontaneous on that Sunday afternoon drive. Great fun!
This is an interesting take on a car game. It gives you a semi-spontaneous way to create a new memory. Use it on your next date night when you just can't figure out what you want to do. Take the kids on a car trip using these (assuming the kids are old enough to appreciate the adventure). For the price, these are priceless. Reusable again and again.
These cards are a really fun way to make any outing a little more spontaneous and exciting. They were a little confusing at first, but once we got the hang of it, my partner and I had a fun time seeing where they would take us.I like that it's just a simple deck of cards in a little self contained box, so its easy to keep them in the car and take them out whenever you want.
This 50-card deck of Prompts for Couples, Families & Friends is a fun idea! It works best with those who are spontaneous and open to new adventures. Just hop in the car, draw a few cards, and follow the directions in the order you drew the cards. Hopefully you will see some new sights and enjoy fun with those you care about! I can't wait to try this out with one of my besties!
I got this as a sticking stuffer for my SIL. She and her husband live in a big city, so it sounds like a good way to have a fun date and explore their city. Just make sure you are smart when driving in an unknown area. if the card is leading you to somewhere that looks unsafe, don't go lol. Otherwise, so fun!
We don't play the game according to the directions.Instead we will randomly draw a card when the day becomes..."What so you want to do""I don't know, what do you want to do"No more trying to figure it out, only to stay him and do nothing. Now we draw a card, follow the directions, and if we see something we like asking the way, we stop. It's easy to keep in the car and always fun.
I ordered this set of 50 Prompts for Couples, Families & Friends - Great for Date Nights & Outdoor Fun - cards with activity prompts as a stocking stuffer for my family. My son (now a teenager) and I love road trips and serendipitous explorations; when I saw this set of cards, I thought these would be fun to use with him and my husband. We live in NUc but spend summers in the CT countryside; I thought the 50 suggestions in this deck of cards could help us discover parts of the countryside we hadn’t explored before. These are slightly larger than a deck of cards; each card has a different suggestion of what to do next, like “take the next left” or “stop at the next cafe and order something you’ve never tried.” As a big fan of serendipitous discoveries, I like the random nature of pulling a card to see what to do next.I love the idea of these cards; they’re fun for family, friends, or even a date, and I know we’ll enjoy using them on vacation and on road trips. For what it’s worth, the game suggests playing until you get a “Head for Home” card, but there are only a few of those cards. You might want to set a time limit, or you could play for quite a long time.
My family and I are very much so the sporadic type and love adventures. We frequently change plans in the midst of driving and love road trips. Bought this to see what adventures we could get into. Keeping in the car, I plan on pulling this out when I hear I'm bored or if we have nothing to do. I snuck a peak at one of the cards and it said to keep making right hand turns and counting how many people were eating ice cream cones. I live in a beach town in Florida, that number was endless. Yet alas, enough right hand turns and you find yourself at a dead end or in the water soon enough. I can see how laughter ensues and fun is had it all. This deck is tiny like a mini version of a deck of cards. Great gift for those that like adventures and the unexpected. Easy to learn since you simply do as it states on the card. At least 100 different adventures to get on. You decide how long each should last for. Creating memories with loved ones...priceless!!

Highly recommend for any parent looking to connect with their teen on a meaningful level!
I am a school psychologist and I bought these cards to initiate conversations in groups at work. However, these could be used among family members as well. The questions are thought provoking and they aren't "cheesy" like some other conversation cards that I have used. I love that a lot of them focus on maintaining appropriate boundaries, as this is an area that adolescents really struggle with these days. These definitely are functional in that many great conversations has stemmed from talking about these cards. They are well worth the very reasonable cost.
These cards are very, very well done. I appreciate the categories and the resources included. I also love the included follow-up and go deeper!
