Confidence for good parenting
This isn't a card game, and it isn't sex education. It's a conversation structure, developed with therapists and counsellors, printed on every card - so the hardest subject in parenting a teenager doesn't depend on you finding the right words at the right moment.
Open without assuming
The front of every card is specific and non-graphic, and none of them presume your teen is dating or has done anything. Ask a question that presumes and you get a wall; but a question that doesn't gets an answer - and often a detailed one.
Go Deeper, Twice
Turn the card over for two follow-ups. On this subject the first answer is nearly always "I dunno" - a holding response while they work out whether this is safe. The second and third questions are where an actual opinion appears.
They work out what they think
Most of these questions have no right answer, which is deliberate. A teenager who has articulated what respect looks like, out loud, to a parent who didn't flinch, is in a different position six months later than one who never has.
Every prompt is developed, reviewed, and refined with the help of 65+ qualified experts, including:
Licensed therapists and counselors
Psychologists and behavioral specialists
Communication and family experts
Each question goes through multiple rounds of expert review - word by word - to ensure it’s:
Non-graphic and age-appropriate.
Free of assumption
And genuinely helpful for real families
This level of care is why families trust our cards - and keep coming back to them.
It's been an honor to help make Talking Point Card packs. They're simple, intuitive to use, and encourage people to open up in ways they may have previously avoided.

The first card, possibly. By the third, generally not.
Nothing in the deck is graphic and nothing assumes anything about your teen, so there's no moment where either of you has to acknowledge something awkward out loud. Most parents report the dread was worse than the conversation.
Some will say so and answer anyway.
The questions were built to avoid the two things that trigger that reaction - being talked down to, and being asked something that's obviously a set-up for a lecture. A school psychologist who reviewed them specifically noted they aren't cheesy, which is a harder test than most products pass.
It's for teens - 12-18.
Younger teens get more from the respect, friendship and communication categories; older teens from consent, boundaries and emotional safety. Nothing in the deck is explicit at any age.
No, and that's normal.
One reviewer found about half directly relevant to his family right now. The deck spans early friendship through to serious relationships, so at any given moment some cards are ahead of where your teen is. Those are the ones worth keeping for next year. Most people work through the ones that fit and come back to the rest.
The research points the other way.
Young people who can talk to a parent about relationships tend to make more considered decisions, not fewer. Nothing in this deck grants permission for anything; the questions are about what respect, trust and boundaries look like.
No. There's nothing explicit here.
And it isn't a substitute for what they learn at school or from you directly. It's about the relationship side - respect, consent, communication, self-worth - which is the part most curricula cover thinly and most families never discuss.
Occasionally it does, and that's the deck working rather than failing.
It isn't a safeguarding tool, so if something concerning surfaces, treat it as the start of a conversation with a school counsellor, GP or support service rather than something to resolve over the kitchen table.
Let's put it in context.
Under $35 for 171 questions on the subject you'll be navigating for the next six years, written by therapists and counsellors. Most parents tell us the first real answer they got was worth it on its own.
Then you pay nothing.
Every order comes with a 30-day money back guarantee. If you genuinely give it a try and don't feel closer, contact us and we'll refund every penny. No hoops, no awkward questions, no hassle.
We're confident enough in what these cards do to make that promise without hesitation. But we'd rather you try them knowing the risk is entirely ours.

What real parents are saying
I am a school psychologist and I bought these cards to initiate conversations in groups at work. However, these could be used among family members as well. The questions are thought provoking and they aren't "cheesy" like some other conversation cards that I have used. I love that a lot of them focus on maintaining appropriate boundaries, as this is an area that adolescents really struggle with these days. These definitely are functional in that many great conversations has stemmed from talking about these cards. They are well worth the very reasonable cost.
This is a fantastic resource for fostering healthy communication between parents and teens. The prompts are thoughtful and relevant to issues like love, consent, and respect. They help open up conversations that might otherwise be difficult, and it's a great tool for strengthening relationships.
This is definitely a very good way to start some very deep conversations and definitely helpful in working with teens in foster care that have experienced unhealthy relationships and for teens that have had healthy models but are learning how to do their own.
As a conservative Christian father of two teenage sons, I approached this review with a unique perspective. While these cards aren’t explicitly Christian-focused, they’re highly relevant to raising teenagers. Although I would’ve appreciated a dedicated section for faith and family, especially considering their dating and relationship focus, I understand the authors’ decision to maintain a faith-agnostic approach. This strategy enables them to reach a broader audience. Our family can easily incorporate our own faith filter into our discussions, so this doesn’t pose a significant challenge. Here’s how I categorized the 56 cards based on their value for our family:1. - **31 Thoughtful Cards/Questions:** These cards stand out because I believe they’ll facilitate meaningful dinner-time discussions.2. - **21 Thought-Provoking Questions:** These questions are intriguing, but some have already been covered in previous family discussions or are better addressed by other cards in the deck. We’ll keep these cards handy if additional discussion is needed for a specific topic later.3. - **4 Cards That Didn’t Seem to Add Value:**More than half of the cards will undoubtedly be incorporated into our family dinner-time conversations. I found the questions related to family dynamics and role modeling, as well as the cards about emotions and breakups particularly useful.Overall, this deck is an excellent resource for parents with teenagers. Relationships and dating can be challenging topics for both parents and teens, as teenagers often seek guidance from their less experienced peers. However, these cards will help us engage with our sons and weigh in on these important topics in a safe space.I’m giving these cards a solid 4-star rating because I found 31 of the 56 cards directly useful in our situation. I would definitely purchase them again to obtain the cards that we found helpful. We plan to combine these cards with those related to navigating technology and social media boundaries for some thought-provoking dinner-time conversations!
