I hadn't expected our teens in the youth group to engage so well but they went deep and the discussions really opened up. A really helpful tool, and as the questions come from the cards we could all join in. Somehow I think that made it easier from them to engage, as they didn't feel they were being quizzed by the leaders, we were all in it together. It definitely helps relationships, understanding and connection go deeper.
Good conversation starter. I get to see my child's sense of humor when they're feeling playful and gives silly answers. My teen child asks me to ask them questions from the cards. My child has opened up and enjoys quality time as a family again.
My 2 boys (ages 14 & 11) and I absolutely love playing the talking point for families pack. We use them when we go camping and are sitting around our fire. Some questions are answered quickly and easily while another question can start a conversation that could last up to an hour - we end up shooting off on different tangents, or constructive debate. Sometimes we end up laughing with tears streaming down our faces! Sometimes there are tears of sadness or anxieties that I didn't even know were present for them. It’s an opportunity to really understand each other and connect with each other. We finished the family pack so I ordered the teen pack. My teens eyes lit up when he saw I’d received it and he unwrapped it and we started “playing it” during dinner. I have raved about these cards to my friends and absolutely recommend it to any families- regardless of their ages.
I bought the teen pack to bring on holiday. We have two teenage girls and although they are generally quite good at talking to us, the questions posed on these cards were excellent in bringing a whole range of topics to life. We also had quite a good laugh when the tables were turned and we had to answer a few too!! Highly recommend these as a way to have real conversation with your teenagers and take them away from their phones!
I took my 14 year old granddaughter on a cruise and I tool these cards along as an extra idea for fun.She loved them and after I got them out the first time my grand daughter suggested we use them every evening before the the theatre show for half an hour. They instigated conversation as we asked each other the questions and in turn dug deeper in to further questions, we found out alot about each others thoughts and opinions and it brought us closer . I recommend these cards to any one wanting to spend quality time with their teenager.They are a bit pricey though, but for us worth it.
