Great idea and great fun!!
Really like these cards. Good quality and nice questions and categories. I have used them with teens, adults, seniors, and people with disabilities for conversation starters, mindfulness, and as a way to wind down. I marked down for a couple things that could be improved. 1. The color coding (thin outlines of shades of blue, green and purple) for the categories are hard to distinguish and could be thicker or much different colors to make it more obvious. 2. Some of the questions were quite similar to one another (like favorite X of the day) and could use a little more variety. 3. The box is thin cardboard and doesn't close very well after opening so it would help to have a more durable way to store these.
This is our second deck of "Talking Point" cards. Both decks do a great job of jumpstarting important conversations with your kids. This deck is aimed at younger kids and the questions promote mindfulness and can help build emotional regulation skills. The entire set is well thought out with age-appropriate and thought-provoking questions, an easy-to-read font, and a secure box that closes securely. This set has 63 cards with a main question on the front and two "dig deeper" questions. There are seven color-coded topics in the deck, and the cards are divided like so:11 Recap12 Winding Down10 Gratitude7 Tech8 Routine9 Nutrition6 FearsAs with the Teens Technology + Boundaries deck, the Winding Down deck helps avoid overthinking how to phrase things and makes it easier to start conversations. As ever, I appreciate things that make things easier for my family (and reduce mental loads- because yes, I could think up 189 wonderful thought-provoking questions but now I don't have to). Strongly recommended.
Excellent way to get your teen to open up and calm themselves. Not only are the cards enjoyable, but they help with bonding. The cards are nice and thick and will definitely last for a long time.
This was great to use with my 12 year-old niece. Instead of being on her phone at night an hour before bed she actually chose to put the phone down and sit and go through cards and discuss things with me. These are wonderful for anyone trying to reconnect with a kid, child niece, nephew, or even just a friend.
I love the idea of these cards. Well I’m sure anyone could sit and think of questions or search the Internet, having a small deck makes it incredibly easy to discuss at bedtime or in the car or at a dinner. Instead of everyone being bored and lost in their own world. This can really help us generate a good conversation. It also allows for some topics and conversations That might be important to talk about with your kids, but they might not like you asking. This is great because I didn’t ask the question, it was on the card.
These cards are a god send for exhausted parents who want to connect with their kids at the end of their day and need some "help/encouragement". I think they're intended for bedtime, but we actually use them at dinner and it really gets the conversations going. I love that they provide some guidance on how to use the cards effectively, and I love that each card has a thought provoking question and two follow up questions to that question on the back. My kids at first were not thrilled to use them....as in "Oh Dad, why are we doing this". But that turned quickly to anticipation of each days dinner topic. Great for family building and understanding what's going on in your little one's brain's. It really helps to understand their joy, fear, anxiety, etc. much better. HIGHLY recommended!!!
I appreciate the solid quality and thoughtful concept behind these cards: the stock feels durable, the design is visually engaging, and the idea is promising. But honestly, the content feels very surface level. The questions are too on-the-nose, offering minimal depth or room for reflection. The “follow‑up” prompts are equally underwhelming. They’re so basic that they don’t spark conversation or curiosity. It’s like having a teacher who doesn’t push you beyond a yes-or-no response. I was hoping we would be intrigued or challenged but we just ended up glossing over each card without feeling inspired to dig deeper.Overall, these cards may work for casual environments or light ice-breakers. But if you’re looking to genuinely provoke thought, curiosity, or meaningful exchanges, I’d hold off. I honestly tried to like them but they just fell flat for me. Maybe they’d be better suited to others, but I’m not personally recommending them.
These cards are a great tool for engaging in a range of communication depth… from light and fun to introspective. They are great to use with family, good friends but also as an icebreaker for small groups at church, school or camps. The quality of the cards is really good: thickness is great, shuffle well, nice semi gloss finish. Would I like most is that each card has a question on one side with additional follow up questions on the other side to deepen the conversation. I did take a star off because I think they’re ridiculously expensive for what they are.
This is a nice quality set of bedtime wind down conversation sparking cards. They feel just like a standard deck of cards. My 7 year old and I already have a simple ‘bedtime chat time’ routine and these have been fun to use to add some variety. They do seem to be aimed towards children, and my child was excited to use them. The only issue I have is that they could get old fast, because there are 7 categories, and some of them are cheesy or uninteresting to us, and make conversation feel forced, like the nutrition and tech categories. My kiddo rolls her eyes when I pick one from here. I would prefer a whole deck of recapping the day and/or grounding techniques, and therefore the $20 price tag for these is a bit steep.
