How to use the Decluttering Kit:
Pick an area of the house to focus on (e.g.: 'Living Room')
Put each category card for that area of focus in the display board.
Start with one Category card, read the information on back and use the decluttering process to work through the items in that category.
Once one Category card is completed, move onto the next until you have completed the whole Area of focus.
This toolkit is designed for anyone struggling with clutter in their homes or workplaces, aiming for an organized, efficient, and comfortable environment, whether they're professionals working from home, homemakers, or individuals seeking to simplify their lifestyle.
It offers a tailored approach, allowing users to choose where they want to start and move at their own pace, making it suitable for a broad range of living and working situations.
Although the Decluttering kit is a physical product, it's designed to reduce clutter rather than contribute to it, acting as a practical tool to achieve a clean, organized space.
Its portability and usefulness make it an integral part of the decluttering process, rather than an extra item. And once you are finished with it, you can either gift it to someone else who can use it, or recycle it (it is 100% sustainably sourced and recyclable).
Compared to decluttering by oneself, the Decluttering Kit provides a structured and comprehensive method to decluttering, making it less overwhelming and more effective.
The Decluttering kit:
Motivates you with tips to keep you moving forward.
Helps to reduce decision fatigue.
Gives you practical tools to feel in control. It offers bite-sized goals, visual tracking of progress, and tips that propel you to continue, ultimately leading to a more productive decluttering experience than if you were to tackle the process without any guidance.
Yes! The Decluttering Kit makes cleaning seem like a fun, winnable game to children. They will quickly feel the satisfaction that comes with cleaning up a space, and that can carry over to longer-lasting decluttering habits!

I would give this product ten stars if I could. And I'm admittedly very frugal, but think it's worth every penny of the current $40 asking price- although I'd be hesitant to pay any more. I've only had it for about a week now and am exhausted but have already hauled off three full truckloads of clutter! We've been in our home for 14 years now and have accumulated too much. Some of our spaces were starting to close in on me and wreaking havoc on my mental health. This is exactly what I personally needed. It's providing great tips for me in each room and giving me the push, confidence, and motivation to just get rid of so much. I'm only keeping things that I have the space for and have even been able to create more space by getting rid of some unnecessary furniture and appliances. My teenage son who is usually oblivious has been so complimentary of our cleaner home and said the kitchen looks the best it has in years. He's even caught the cleaning bug himself and started decluttering his room with no prompting from me.If your mental health is suffering from just too many things everywhere around you and you dont know where to start, this is a good guide to help you take back control. I am feeling better mentally than I have in a very long time and our home is now refreshing, open, and a place we love to be. I hope I have visitors instead of dreading if someone stops by and sees. I'm embarrassed by the amount of clutter that I had been keeping everywhere, but am so thankful for the huge help that this has been in helping me clear it out. I 10/10 recommend it!
**Updated review**I love products that help me to declutter or organize. I spent some time looking at the Talking Points Amazon page and reading a bit about their philosophy. Talking points are meant to encourage family communication and togetherness. These card involve the entire family in the decluttering project. For a single person, they are going to stimulate the thoughts behind the process. It is a deck of cards with a folder that says “decluttering” to put them in, and a small booklet. At first I didn’t like the very plain folder, but then I realized it is just another opportunity for the family to randomly draw on it or put stickers or notes on it. It can become a small representation of the family unit. Very cute!. What I didn’t like about the cards is that a couple of the cards seem to overlap, such as “display units“ and “flat surfaces.” The biggest problem with this set is the value for the money. Although I like it more after taking some time to understand the philosophy behind it, and seeing how it can strengthen your family union, while decluttering at the same time. I had to contact customer service and they are amazing! Extremely prompt and caring. You can order with 100% confidence! I still find it to be overpriced, which is why I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5.
As both a Vine Voice and someone who struggles with over-sentimentality, this product is LIFE-CHANGING. I actually received this not entirely sure what it is, but it’s a set of cards (with a little display/organizer/carrying portfolio) that asks thought-provoking questions about your home and the items in it. It really helps for those of us who are reluctant to dispose of things (hello, GameCube cord from 2002) in case we may need them or struggle with saying goodbye to things that remind us of times long past. Legitimate hoarders always need therapeutic intervention, but this tool can probably help alongside it for them as well as assist with combing through extra junk for those of us without the full medical condition but still struggle. I highly recommend using this during home moves, fall/winter donation collection, and spring cleaning, in particular, but it could be used any time.
Is your stuff getting the better of you? Do you feel like you have no place to walk or sit in your house? Does the sheer quantity of stuff that you own drag you down when you walk into the house? If so, then this decluttering guide and system may be able to help you. This set comes with a very nice Getting Started Guide that is printed on water resistant paper so that it doesn't get ruined even if it gets something spilled on it. It takes you through the steps of decluttering and the mindset that is needed. It even helps you set appropriate boundaries for your home.Included is a folio with slots to hold cards. There is a deck of 63 decluttering cards that have six different areas of focus. These areas are: the bedroom, the kitchen, kids, shared spaces, office and hobby, and tricky spaces. There are 8 color-coded cards for each area. You use this system by picking one of these areas of focus. Each card has top tips as well as questions to consider when you are evaluating items in that area. By breaking down each area of focus into targeted categories, it makes it easier to bite off just a small bit at a time. By focusing on a tiny space, you can see real progress with smaller chunks of time. This helps stave off feelings of overwhelm and discouragement. The Getting Started Guide has lots of good concepts to help you declutter and keep your house clutter free. This really helps you to focus on a specific area so that you can see real progress. In addition, a QR code is included that gives access to a private group, a video, and blog tutorials to give practical advice. The set can be used over and over and over again to declutter in layers as much and as often as is needed and whenever things get out of control.
I expected hacks, tips outside of the obvious, generally known cleaning/organizing methods, and this was a cute way to organize ideas, but it doesn't really offer anything "new" or outside of the obvious critical thinking house cleaning ideas and tips.
This is a review for "TALKING POINT CARDS Decluttering Home Organization Kit."Oh, how I hate giving this only 3 stars! This Talking Points kit is an interesting way to tackle the challenge of decluttering. It consists of 63 category "playing cards," a holder with nine slots, and a 31-page booklet outlining the decluttering process and how to use their system. Here's what the system entails:1. First, choose a specific part of your house that you want to declutter.2. Take all nine category cards related to that area and put them in the nine slots on the display board.3. Now pick one card to start with and read through its details completely.4. Next, begin decluttering by following the process outlined on the card.5. After finishing with the that category, go ahead and tackle the next one, continuing like this until the entire area is decluttered. Now, while decluttering is desperately needed by so many of us, I'm not sure this kit is. The whole board/category cards kind of just seems like more... clutter? Other than its novelty - and as a way to maybe justify the $40 price tag - I don't see the need for them. Don't get me wrong: The kit itself is absolutely gorgeous. The materials are strong, the design is beautiful and the construction is impeccable. VERY impressive! But the cards themselves don't give any earth shattering insights into decluttering. And they're just one more step in getting a space organized.I'll say they MIGHT be useful for people so completely overwhelmed, they just don't know where to begin. The info on the cards could have just been included in the booklet, then sold alone for $9.95.If this kit were priced at $20, I could give it 5 stars. But at $40? Sorry, I just can't see it.
I am always looking to learn more about cleaning and organizing. So when I saw this kit I was eager to learn whatever I could from this learning tool. There is a lot of great info in this kit especially the "take home basket". The purpose of the take home basket is where you put stuff that belongs in other areas of the house in a basket so that you can stay focused on the area you are working on. And then later you can take all the stuff in the basket to the areas of the house where they belong. I think that is genius. I never thought about doing that. So if you need help decluttering I do recommend but it is overpriced. I think it should be half the price that it is because some things are common knowledge. Also I wish it had more about organizing because one you get rid of unwanted stuff you still need to neatly organize what is left. Information on orgaization systems would make this kit perfect.
There are definitely some useful tips in this decluttering program. I just found that it lacked instructions. The booklet that comes with it doesn't really show you "how" to use the cards. Maybe it's supposed to be obvious. I need step by step instructions on what to do. When I went back to the product description here and saw the pictures of the cards being used, I felt like I had a better idea of what to do. I think this will be helpful as I try to declutter my home.
My hubby is a cleaning-master. The rest of us can't keep up. So this is a handy tool for the rest of us mortals to use to help reduce clutter and just keep the house clean(er). My best take away from one of the cards is this: what would a guest think when they look at the room? Would a guest be comfortable here?Work at your own pace and in the space that you want to focus on. Easy to share with others (where as a book you'd have to bookmark and share--this has cards and a display so all can see quickly and easily).I would definitely recommend.
I’ve been a Professional Organizer since 2014, and have worked with a wide variety of disorganized people. My main clientele is made up of Chronically Disorganized people, who have tried self-help methods like these cards with little to no results.HOWEVER, this card set has a place, in my professional opinion, for parents to help their children (I’d say ages 10-17) work though someOf these areas as a learning tool. I like how the categories are broken down, but I would not expect many older disorganized people to be able to take the cards and DIY without some sort of continuing guidance or support. The thought did occur to me that I could use the cards to break down the process and pieces for my clients to give them a visual of the full scope of a “Whole House Project”.
