I am beyond impressed with the talking point card set. There are some heavy questions that every couple should be asking each other prior to getting legally married. This set of cards facilitate conversation in a way that is organized, well thought out, and fun.The topic areas are divided into 8 sections, which are color coded (visible at the top of the card). I included a photo of the card deck from above you so can see the different color options to choose from. The categories include Intimacy, Outside Influences, Values, Finances, Family, Goals, Health, and Home Life. I have included a sample of cards from each category so you can get a feel for the questions.My partner and I have been living together for over a year and some of these questions would have been really great to ask each other prior to moving in as they can reveal expectations that you may not realize impact household life together. Additionally, some of the "family" and "outside influence" questions are really helpful when blending two families, especially if there is conflict between one partner and the in laws.Overall, there are some difficult but very necessary questions that couples would benefit from asking each other. Some questions you would likely already know after dating for a few months. Either way, this is such a valuable tool to have in your relationship.If you are getting serious in a relationship, BUY THESE CARDS. If you have a member of the family who is in a relationship and talking about engagement/marriage, BUY THESE CARDS. This card set would be a great gift for a couple in a serious dating relationship, engaged, or newly married. The cards and the storage box are high quality materials. It's compact and would be easy to throw in a bag or purse to take on a road trip, discussion over dinner, or enjoying time outside at a quiet, scenic place.Like the title "Foundations" implies and the description says, it's really for those considering marriage or just starting out married life together. One of the Q&As on the description says that it could work for a couple married for 3 years. I think it's true that they could be used for couples married longer than a year, but the questions might need some adapting and then they could still stir some interesting conversations. For example, instead of asking "How would we/you...," it could be changed to "How have/did we..."The nice thing about these cards is that they cover a range of topics. Some of the topics or specific questions might be a little uncomfortable, even for committed couples. And yet, the cards make them easier to ask/discuss because the idea/topic/question is coming from a card, not one person in the relationship.Like it mentions in the description, not every question/card is going to be for every couple, but with 200 cards, I think more would apply than not apply.

These cards make a wonderful getting-to-know-you game, for couples who want better communication. The questions are respectful but fairly invasive, so it's best to do just between two people, and not as a party game with a larger group. They're very thought-provoking and topically deep, encouraging good free expression. Worth it!

Foundations cards are awesome for Couples who are newly engaged.We gave them as a gift for the happy couple!

We are in the couples facing major life changes and looking to the future category. It was a very tough decision between the couples, rekindle or foundations pack. So far, the foundations cards have created further stress to our already turbulent circumstances because they have complex sentence structures, making them not being easy to interpret. Also, using the word "value" on the cards is so broad & vague. Focusing on a particular area of value (eg relationship or work) would be far more effective. I even had to replace the word "value" with "behaviours" to make the questions approachable. I should not have to conduct research to interpret and breakdown questions into an understandable question.
